Tony Curtis, (d. 3 Haziran 1925 - ö. 29 Eylül 2010) Macar asıllı ABDli aktör ve ressamdır. Oyunculuk hayatına 1949 yılında başladı. Spartaküs ve Some Like It Hot gibi unutulmaz Hollywood yapımlarında yer alan ünlü oyuncu, Janet Leigh' in eski kocası ve oyuncu Jamie Lee Curtis' in babasıydı.






Hayatı
Asıl adıyla Bernard Schwartz olan Tony Curtis, 1925 yılında New York’ta doğdu. Babası Budapeşte'de amatör olarak aktörlük yapmış bir göçmendi. Curtis'in ailesi Macar Yahudisiydi. 1943 yılında orduya katıldı. Ordudan sonra drama okuluna gitti. 1948 yılında Universal Studios’tan teklif alınca ailesiyle birlikte Californiya’ya yerleşti. Birkaç film yaptı ve o dönemde çoğu yıldızın yaptığı gibi ismini değiştirerek Tony Curtis adını aldı. 1951 - 1962 yılları arasında dönemin ünlü aktristi Janet Leigh’le evli kaldı. Çiftin ikisi de oyuncu olan Jamie Lee Curtis ve Kelly Curtis olmak üzere iki kız çocukları oldu.

İlk filmi 1949’da çevirdiği "Criss Cross" oldu. Ardından "City Across the River" (1949), "Francis the Talking Mule" (1950), "Flesh and Fury" (1952),ve "No Room for the Groom" (1952) gibi filmler yaptı.

1953’te, Janet Leigh’le birlikte Houdini adlı filmde rol aldı. 1890’lı yıllarda geçen ve efsane sihirbaz Harry Houdini’nin yaşamını konu alan filmde Tony Curtis, ünlü sihirbaz Harry Houdini’yi canlandırmıştı. 1956’da Burt Lancaster ve Gina Lollobrigida ile "Trapez"de oynadı. Film, sirk hayatını anlatan başarılı bir yapımdı. 1959’da ise Marilyn Monroe ve Jack Lemmon ile Some Like It Hot ( Bazıları Sıcak Sever )adlı komedi filminde oynadı. Bugün bile Hollywood’un en çok sevilen komedilerinden biri olarak kabul edilen filmde Tony Curtis ve Jack Lemmon kadın kılığındaydılar.

Curtis, 29 Eylül 2010'da hayata gözlerini yumduğunda 85 yaşındaydı.
